1 Betting System results -56% decrease on the bank in the last month

It was a losing period for the bank this month. Mainly driven by poor results from the BSG2 “bsg2ZeroZero” trend and the lay strategy with only the Betaminic back strategies making profit overall.

My set is now -£1.043 from a 2k bank (-52%) from the starting bank.

1/19 to 2/12 saw a -£1,207 / -56% decrease on bank from £2,164 on Feb 19th.

-56% decrease on the bank in the last month excluding costs.

-£1,389 decrease on a £2,164 starting bank including £182 costs from January 18th to February 12th (-£1,207 gross loss)

System performance

It was the Betaminic back strategies that kept the month from being an absolute disaster.

For Comparison Betaminic’s recommended sets from their “Best Strategies for 2025” article.

The Low drawdown set of 9 did the best last month. BSG and the Lay strategy really let things down.

But it was good that I switched from the previous system which had a much worse month of-92%.

I have made some changes to my bot set and the BSG Draw System which I explain in section 3.

Subscribers to my BFBM Support service have already received the new bot sets.

If you are not a subscriber, but are following these systems with your own bot sets, please read the section and make changes as you see fit.

2 Important note for BFBM users

If you are following my recommended strategies, please unfollow

And then follow

TW ProHome V3 BFBM

The original strategy name was too long for BFBM to read, so I had to make a shorter named version. But I forget to update the Start Now page.

It is in some setup guides but not my Start Now page.

The two strategies have the same settings, but V3 has slightly different leagues used. That is because I updated it to include just those leagues that currently have +5% yield and over 100 bets of data.

3 Changes to Bot Set and BSG System

BSG bots

The “A1.14” Bsg2ZeroZero 0-0 FT bot and the “A1.07/A7.1” HT Under 0.5 goals bot will be removed.

The “A1” FT draw bot for bsgZeroZero that bets at opposite odds will be added back in again.

The BSG Draw Set will use 2 bots from this month on.

What happened to the BSG yields?

It is getting to be a real mystery to me why the good bots yield drops and have these long poor runs. The underlying trend is still profitable, but these related bots have not been as consistent.

In the past, my in-play BSG1 draw bots were doing well after 1000s of bets, but after sharing for a few months, their yield went down and eventually negative.

Then, after sharing the opposite price BSG1 draw bot, that began to lose its yield, too. But its long term trend is still a strong 7% now.

Then, after switching everyone to BSG1 0-0 FT and under 0.5 goals HT, the HT yield starts to reduce.

The BSG2 0-0 FT trend still has profit long term, but the last 1000 bets have been negative yield, which is why I am pulling it out.

While it still has a long term ROI of 6.7%, making a loss over the last 1000 bets suggests it is losing its edge.

If you really want to keep following it, let me know and I will re-approve you.

The core underlying FT draw trend has seen its yield go down from 3% after 5,000 bets to 1.8% after 14,000 bets, but it is still in profit.

Is the problem too many people following?

I just cannot believe that so few of us are squeezing the yield out of the markets.

Right now, there are only 14 of us following BSG Draws.

Someone suggested to me that Betfair markets are much more sensitive than I currently think and that minor markets especially cannot cope with large amounts being bet on them at the same time. They think it is this that is reducing the yield.

At the moment, for the BSG Draw System, I think we have a combined 15,000 GBP bank being bet on these picks.

With odds of 8 for 0-0 that would be a 0.48% of the bank being staked, i.e. 72 GBP. This does not seem like an amount that should affect the market.

In the minor market of under 0.5 goals HT, odds of 2.50 would see 1.85% of the bank staked, i.e. 277 GBP. On a minor market like HT under 0.5, then maybe that could affect things.

In the major market of Match Odds FT, odds of 3.00 would see 1.47% of the bank staked, i.e. 220 GBP. That really should not be a problem in any normal Match Odds market.

But even having said that, I think we can reduce the risk of affecting the price by spreading out our bet times and at least not all using the exact same bot set with the same Time to Bet.

That is why I am giving people different Time to Bets from this month.

If you have not received a new bot set from me, then I recommend you edit your own main bots to bet a different time to the default one it had when you first downloaded it.

Betaminic more resilient than BSG strategies

Betaminic results are based on Pinnacle closing odds, which are basically the lowest in the market.

I think Betaminic strategies should be more resilient to extra followers than my BSG one since that is just based on Betfair Exchange.

In the future I really will have to encourage people to try and pick their own strategies and adjust their own bot settings. Everyone using the exact same bot set and strategies may not be the best thing.

But, if there is anything we can do to mitigate against reducing value from too many followers, then we should do it. That is why on my free example bot sets I am going to change the market conditions back to default, and the time to bet to 5m. So peoples should avoid that 5m Time to Bet and bet a little before that when possible.

My Betaminic referrals will still get the advanced bot sets.

My BSG subscribers will get the advanced bot sets plus an allotted Time to Bet so that we don’t interfere with each other when trying to get the best prices.

Since we have a higher volume of betting opportunities now, then I think it is okay to be tighter with market rules and not place bets if we cannot get a good price for them. We can afford to be more patient with other betting since we have many more opportunities to bet now.

I hope these changes lead to improvements in everyone’s results.

My set has made a loss this month but I have some people saying they are in profit which confuses me even more. Sometimes there is the luck of what your bot manages to get a bet on and what it misses.

After looking over my data, I have made changes to my bot setup, and also an important change to the BSG Draw System.

The new bot set has all the bots for following my recommended strategies.

  1. The Betaminic Back bets System(x34 Betaminic strategies) (No changes to previous strategy choices)
  2. The Betaminic Lay bets System(x1 Betaminic strategy) (No changes to previous strategy choices)
  3. The BSG Draw System (x2 bots) (Some changes, please see below.)

Changes to BSG Draw System

The new bot set makes an important change to the BSG Draw System.

  1. It stops bsg2ZeroZero.
  2. It stops bsgZeroZero’s HT under 0.5 goals bot.
  3. It adds in BSG1 FT Draw “bsgDrawSys0_5” https://www.tippingsports.com/en/profile/9153Please follow this new account on TippingSports.

Basically bsg2ZeroZero it hit a run of 1000 bets and is not in profit anymore.

bsgZeroZero’s HT’s ROI has dropped to under 5%.

The other 2 bots, A1 and A1.06 have about 7% ROI based on long term data.

Changes to bot set

The bot set also makes big changes to the main betting bots.

It splits the 3 systems into 3 sets to make it easier to see which is working well.

It splits each system into 4 bots:

  1. Strict price rules and betting on current odds NLC
  2. Loose price rules and betting on opposite odds NLC (asking for a better price than the currently available price)
  3. Strict price rules and betting on current odds LC%
  4. Loose price rules and betting on opposite odds LC% (asking for a better price than the currently available price)

The Bot Set

This set is split into four bots for each of the 3 systems in its main bets:

So each system’s 1,000 EUR bank is divided into 4 x 250 EUR banks.

This will mean lower volume due to skipped bets but higher ROI long term.

This is the exact method I am using now with my newest bots.

For price rules, I recommend one of these options:

  1. Strict price rules and betting on current odds
  2. Loose price rules and betting on opposite odds (asking for a better price than the currently available price)
  3. A split bank using both price settings.

I recommend option 3 and that is what I am using in my personal betting.

The bank is also split between Whitaker LC and NLC staking.

So the bot set may seem complicated, but this is my recommended set for professional betting.

The three systems are also now split up so it is easier to see how they do separately.

The aim is to run the 1k bank bot set until it hits +5,000 or -1,000, whichever comes first.

It will have winning months of +200% and losing months of -80%. That is all part of the system. -50% drops in one month are not a problem. The staking system is setup to keep the bank alive until a period of unusually high positive variance comes and pushes the set to its target profit of +500% on the bank.

This set is everything I think works now for automated betting.

I keep testing and researching new things, but the strategies I think will work are in this bot set.

If you are a Betaminic subscriber and did NOT get this updated bot set from me, then please email me if you want the advanced bot set. I am only giving it out to Betaminic users and my BSG-BFBM support subscribers.

4 Important choice for BFBM users regarding the BSG Draws System

The addition of the bsgDrawSys0_5 trigger tips is based on the long running test bot “A1” that has a 7.34% ROI from betting on opposite odds.

The intention is to bet on opposite odds.

However, the new bot set sent out uses bsgDrawSys0_5 to trigger the Group 1 A1.02 bot.

Thes Group 1 bots all bet on current odds with no market conditions just to make sure the bet can be placed and track bets at the step 1 level.

The A1.02 bot is then used as a trigger for the Group 2 main betting bots.

03.10 and 03.12 both bet on opposite odds with loose market conditions, which is fine. This is the intention to copy the “A1” bot with 7.34% ROI.

But 03.09 and 03.11 bet on current odds with strict market conditions.

This in effect means that the 03.09 and 03.11 bots are copying the “A2” bot that has 1.8% ROI historically with loose market conditions.

My real mode test set with a 100 GBP bank has been doing well so far with this setting.

My tracker bots show the A1 and A2 bot results with NLC staking and loose market conditions, so strict conditions should be better ROI.

So you have the choice of

  1. Continuing to allow the 03.09 and 03.11 bots to copy the “A2” bot that has 1.8% ROI historically with loose market conditions.
  2. Stopping the 03.09 and 03.11 bots from betting on the Group 1 “A1.02” bot so that you are only copying the “A1” opposite odds 7.34% trend and not also the “A2” current odds 1.8% trend.

I am continuing with option A) for now.

For Option A), do nothing and let the set run as it is.

For Option B), go into the “Selection Conditions” tab for both Bot 03.09 and Bot 03.11, click on the “Only if specified strategy has bets on the same selection” rule, left-click the “A1.02 £0.10 BSG1 PM FT Dr…” strategy, then click “Remove” and save. Done.

5 Don’t panic. -50% is not unusual for Whitaker Staking, it is just part of the expected monthly ranges of the betting system -80% / +2000%

2025-2-12

My set is now -1.043 GBP from a 2k bank (-52%) from the starting bank.

1/19 to 2/12 saw a -1,207 GBP / -56% decrease on bank from 2,164 on Feb 19th.

But I am not panicking. This is still withing normal variance expectations for this staking plan.

While this is not great, it is how the Whitaker Staking works. It risks all the bank and we will see big 50% ups and downs.

In the graph below you can see Whitaker LC and NLC staking applied to the 2024 results of the 23 of the strategies I chose for 2025 before I added 11 more from the Betaminic “Best for 2025” article.

(Image taken from https://bettingsystemsguide.com/whitaker-staking/)

And also please note the above graph does not include BSG draws or the BSG16 lay strategy. It is just 23 of the BM back strategies.

Whitaker LC staking was flat for 800 bets and then went up to +500 points (x5 of the bank), then went on a losing run back to 0 over the next 1000 bets (-80%) but then went on a run hitting a peak of 2000 points (or x20 of the starting bank) over the next 2000 bets. It also had a big drop from 2000 to finish on about 400 (379) meaning a -80% drop in the LC bank.

The Whitaker LC side of things can see -80% bank drops and then go on 2,000% bank increases. It is a rollercoaster, but the most capital efficient rollercoaster from a risk/reward standpoint in my opinion.

We should keep in mind that the bank can go x20 from any start point and also go -80% from any start point.

We are just -54% now. This is a normal day at the office for this bank. We are still hoping for a run that will take our bank to 20,000 GBP at some point in 2025. But I plan to cash out and review things at 5k.

BUT it feels awful. We have to trust the strategies, the big data supporting them, the staking plan applied to them and the bot settings running them.

In order of confidence:

  1. The staking plan – Whitaker staking is the best. It is the peak of my staking research. It is Whitaker LC/NLC, target profit staking or level stakes, that’s it in my mind.
  2. The big data – I think Betaminic data is very reliable and transparent. Its results are based on Pinnacle closing odds which are the lowest on the market. I also think the thousands of bets of data behind my BSG draws system that comes directly from the Betfair exchange is meaningful because it is my data and I trust it. 14,000 bets and still in profit must mean something for that draw trend.
  3. The strategies – I think the strategies we are using from Betaminic have been long running and work if followed for periods of 1000 bets. We are well under 100 bets for most of those strategies in 2025. Far too early to even consider if we made the wrong choices or not.
  4. The bot settings. – this is the weakest link for me at the moment. All my efforts have been on strategies and staking, but bot settings has been on the back burner without too much scientific method research. I am trying to do that now. This new updated bot set reflects my latest ideas from test data results.

6 When do I stop following a strategy? What are my criteria?

My plan is to follow a strategy for 1000 bets. If it makes a loss after 1000 bets on level stakes, or if its ROI significantly drops from the original trend after 1000 bets, then we stop it. For example, if a strategy had a trend of 10% ROI, and it made 2% ROI after 1000 bets, then it is a sign the trend has weakened. We then have to make a choice to keep it or not based on its other characteristics such as drawdown and consistency.

Also, in general, I would not drop a strategy making a loss after 100-500 bets when the win rate is below the long term trend win rate because I would feel it needs more chance to show its trend. These strategies make the trend ROI under the same win rate conditions. Volume dilutes the periods of below average results. Lower win rates indicate negative variance (bad luck) and higher win rates indicate positive variance (good luck)  BUT if it is a trend with a 33% win rate and 5% yield, and it is making a loss after 500 bets while still getting its trend win rate of 33%, then I would consider dropping it.

7 Three ways to improve ROI

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

I made a video about improving ROI with changes to overround, back/lay ratio and price rules. Should you change?

3 WAYS TO IMPROVE BOT YIELDS WITH BF BOT MANAGER: https://youtu.be/9Aa0EuG5k6U

My set should make profit even with current settings, but the stricter overrounds will increase ROI at the expense of volume. I don’t know the right answer. In my gut I think it may turn out to be the right move. I have loose settings because in the past people would get upset at all the “missed” picks that did not get bet on from Betaminic, and with the old pick model, each pick cost money and it felt like they were wasting money. With the new model, that stress has been lessened but is still there. Our aim, however, is to make profit over the year, not to bet on every pick generated. I think the ultimate best settings will be one of these two;

Set 1: Tighter rules – 103% and 1-tick back bets / 97% and 1-tick lay bets

Set 2: Loose settings BUT ask for opposite price. 115% and 4-ticks back bets / 4-ticks lay bets

It is not clear which is better yet, which is why my new bot set splits itself between them both.

Complicated stuff, but if this does not work, then I am not sure what will in the world of betting! All we can do is share results, ask questions and make the best decisions with the data in front of us.

8 Recommendations for new users

Recommendations

If you are not following Betaminic strategies already, then I really recommend getting into them.

The absolute best thing is for you to learn how to use the Betaminic database and/or Bf Bot Manager yourself and make your own betting decisions with your eyes wide open to the risks and profit targets.

But at the beginning, it can help just to follow an existing system and then make your own decisions once you get used to how it all works.

If you want to follow the systems I do, then:

#1 Follow the BSG Draw System. It is free for the first month.

#2 Follow the 34 Betaminic back strategies I do.

#3 Follow the Betaminic lay strategy BSG16 lay strategy if you have access to a betting exchange.

Manual Betting

#2 & #3 can be run easily with manual betting since the betting picks get sent out with plenty of time before KO, often 36-48 hours before KO.

Automated Betting

If you have Betfair, then you can automate #1, #2 & #3 on Betfair. Otherwise, you can bet manually #2 on any sportsbook.

Free Example Bot Sets

If you download any of my free example bot sets, please review and edit the settings.

Try to change the Time to Bet to any other time than the default.

Look at the Overround rule and the Back/Lay Odds Ratio rule. Are those default settings okay, or do you want to change them?

9 Research Project Results Update – What settings are best for the Overround and Back/lay odds ratio?

One of the remaining question marks on the bot set is what the best market and selection condition settings are best to use, and that is where my next research efforts are going. Namely, what Overround and what Back/lay odds ratio.

To that end I setup a massive set of back and lay bots that back/lay EVERY away team in every market available on Betfair.

One group of bots has slightly different back/lay ratios.

Another group has slightly different overrounds.

Another group has slightly different settings for Whitaker staking.

Data from Jan 17th 2025 to Feb 10th 2025

These bots have only been running for 28 days and took a lot of resources on my PC, so I have stopped them for now.

The extra darkly highlighted bots are those that seemed to be doing the best midway through the test and I wanted to keep an eye on.

They have 4000 bets of data, so I think that is enough to draw some conclusions.

Observations

1. Interesting to note that just backing all or laying all the away teams with no overround or back/lay ratios BOTH lead to losses.

Back bets had -5.9% ROI.

Lay bets had -3.9% ROI.

2. The only 2 bots that managed to make profit on both back/lay sides were

The 63.08.11 back bot using level stakes that got 0.47 profit after 514 bets. This is due to the 1% back/lay odds ratio that prevented betting on 87.5% of the matches, and basically I think it was just luck that it broke even.

The 63.03 lay bot using target profit staking with loose overrounds of 115%/85% and back/lay ratios of 4 ticks got +49 pints profit after 2,445 bets. That is quite impressive.

Target profit stakes are very good in my opinion, but they mean dangerously high liabilities for higher lay odds. E.g. risk 100 to win 1 GBP for odds of 101, risk 20 to win 1 for odds of 21, etc. Whitaker Staking is a blend of Target Profit and Percentage staking that tries to remove that risk on the higher odds.

3. Out of the NLC sets, the back bots did better with tighter back/lay odds ratios and the best was 1-tick. The lay bots had a very uneven trend with 2-ticks doing slightly better than 1-tick, but the ranking was 2-tck, 1-tick, 4-ticks, 3-ticks. How are we supposed to interpret those results?! But 1/2 ticks both beat 3/4 ticks. So the data does suggest tighter market rules are better.

4. On level stakes, we also get uneven results.

While tighter market rules are clearly better on the back side with 1-tick best, 5-ticks seemingly beats 4-ticks, but that bucks the trend of the data. I think that is more an indication of how we can even see uneven “luck” reflected in large bet numbers of 2,000 bets.

On the back side, we also see that 2.5% back/lay ratio beats all the others. This could be a setting to consider trying for those of you wanting to make your own bot sets.

In the end, the difference between 115% and 103% overround was almost nothing. This makes me think that the back/lay ratio is more important to good prices than the overround rule.

On the lay side, tighter market conditions also seem better and the 97% overround beats the 85% slightly. So I think tighter market rules are also better for lay bets.

On the lay side, the 5% back lay odds ratio beats the 1-tick setting.

If you are looking for a way to differentiate your bot set from others, then a 5% rule on your lay bots might be one way.

5. An important thing to note is that Whitaker Staking does not prevent bankruptcy with selection methods that have a negative Roi on level stakes. Whitaker Staking multiples profits on systems that work on level stakes.

We can see here how all the back settings banks have gone bankrupt, over -100, even the set with ELS4/10,000 bets.

One surprising thing was that none of the lay bots were worse than -10% down.  This makes me think it may be easier to make money from laying that backing.

Conclusion

After making so many custom bot sets for people, I am loathe to re-do them all, so it is up to you if you want to change them again.

For now I am running the 1-tick back/lay odds ratio setting.

But it does seem that 1-tick vs 2.5% or 5% may be a re-match that needs testing further.

I will let you know if I find anything.

10 Price rules options

I just want to be really clear about the fact that I am not 100% sure what the best price settings are yet.

At the moment I am thinking about these three price rule settings

  1. Strict price rules and betting on current odds
  2. Loose price rules and betting on opposite odds (asking for a better price than the currently available price)
  3. A split bank using both price settings 1 & 2.

All the options work with the idea that being more patient and skipping bets if we cannot get good prices is the way forward.

I recommend option 3 and that is what I am using in my personal betting.

The customized bot sets sent out to my subscribers uses option 3.

11 Standard Bot Sets vs. BSG Subscriber Custom Bot Sets

Paid subscribers are requesting I give separate “Time to Bet”s and not give out the same free bot set to everyone.

They worry that value is being squeezed out of the picks by everyone using the same bot set betting at the exact same time.

I don’t think we have enough followers to affect the Betfair market yet, but I want to respond to subscriber requests, so…

BSG-BFBM IT Support Subscribers

BSG Subscribers will receive a custom bot set with the best price settings based on my current knowledge and research results.

Each subscriber will get an Individual Time to Bet for their bot set.

I will customize your bot set as you want it. (Bank size, staking settings, market conditions, etc.)

I will explain any questions you may have about the bot set.

I will help you to make any bot sets that you are trying to develop.

https://bettingsystemsguide.com/product/bsg-it-support-1-month/

Non-BSG Subscribers

Others can download my standard bot set with the default settings and a default Time to Bet that they can edit themselves.

The standard bot set should also work fine and make profit. It will be easier to edit yourselves.

The best price settings bot set is really quite complicated and needs quite a lot of ongoing support to explain and answer questions on. There is a chance to make many mistakes with it if used without guidance, so for that level of support, please become a BSG-BFBM IT Support Subscriber.

So non-BSG subscribers can get the standard bot set with default settings, then read my newsletters, read my blog posts, watch my videos, read the BFBM manual and edit the bots yourself based on your understanding of what is best.

Key Advice: Changing the time to bet for the main bots is advisable. Tighter market and selection conditions are recommended. Splitting bots and banks when you are unsure of best settings can hedge against mistakes. But standard settings should also work.

12 PC Performance - How many bots can BFBM run?

One question that often comes up is “How many bots can BFBM run?”

Well, it depends on your computer resources.

A powerful computer can run more than standard computers.

The performance of your BFBM is affected by your processor, your RAM, how many markets you load, your market monitoring settings, how many bots you have actively running and also the settings inside those bots.

One good quick way to see if your PC is being overworked is to press CTRL+ALT+DEL and look at the Task Manager which shoes you the PC performance. If more than 90% of Memory is being used, then your computer may be running out of resources to process all the functions that BFBM wants to do.

Here are some screenshots from 3 of my computers running BFBM.

You can compare them to your own.

1100 BST Sunday Feb 9th

These screenshots are taken from Sunday AM UK time. This is most definitely “off-peak” for football matches. Even then, my VPS was at the edges of its memory capacity, which suggests I am overworking it and the software may become unstable.

8 GB RAM seems necessary.

The most noticeable effect I see is that while my healthy PC BFBM has similar bet numbers for bots with the same trigger feed, the unhealthy VPS has missed some bets, probably from running out of processing power at peak weekend times. I need to upgrade or improve my settings on the VPS.

My healthy Sim PC has the exact same number of bets for bots that have the same trigger bet feed.

The above set started on Feb 8th..

My VPS has different bet numbers for bots that should have the same bet numbers from the same trigger bet feed.

The above set started on Feb 9th.

Note: You can see that there is some kind of issue with my sim bots on the left since it has many fewer BSG bets (03.09 = 9 bets) than the VPS on the right that started later (03.09 = 64 bets). This is because on Sun Feb 9th I had 520 bots running on my sim PC, including a set of bots that bet on every selection in every market. My PC basically slowed to a stuttering halt about 1am BST Monday morning. I switched off those bots an stopped a few hundred others and it is running fine now with 344 bots. But you can see the effects of overloading the software. It will basically become unstable and randomly miss bets.

What can we do to reduce the strain on BFBM?

One of our veteran members has emailed me advice from BFBM Customer Service on how to improve the performance of your BFBM software. I paste that email here:

Hi Tom,

I asked if there are any settings on BF Bot manager that improve performance and can be changed globally rather than bot by bot. The following 3 were recommended. I thought I would share them in case you wished to give them a try:

Settings That Can Be Configured Globally

The following settings can be applied globally or affect all bots indirectly:

  1. Remove Finished Markets (Global Setting)
  • This can be done globallyfor all bots:
    1. Go to Settings → General Settingsin BF Bot Manager.
    2. Enable the “Remove Finished Markets”
    3. This ensures that no bot continues monitoring markets that are completed or inactive.
    4. Market Locator (Pre-Selecting Markets for All Bots)
  • Instead of letting bots find markets independently:
    1. Use the Market Locatortool in BF Bot Manager.
    2. Set up filters to select only Football → Match Oddsmarkets starting within the next 2 hours.
    3. Pre-load these filtered markets for all bots to use.
    4. Configure your bots to work only with pre-loaded markets.

Steps to Adjust API Throttling in BF Bot Manager

  1. Open BF Bot Manager:
    • Launch the BF Bot Manager
  2. Go to Settings:
    • From the main interface, look for the “Settings”option, typically located in the top menu.
  3. API Settings:
    • Inside the Settingsmenu, look for an option related to API settings or API Request Limits. This might be labeled as:
      • API Throttling
      • API Request Limits
      • Betfair API Settings
  1. Adjust API Request Limits:
    • Here, you will be able to adjust the number of API requests per minuteor API request intervals. Some specific settings you may find include:
      • Maximum requests per minute: Limit the number of API calls made by the bot to Betfair in a minute.
      • Interval between requests: Set a delay (in milliseconds or seconds) between each request to throttle the frequency.
    • Example Settings:
      • Set the request interval to 500ms(i.e., one request every half-second).
      • Alternatively, set a maximum of 60 requests per minute.
  1. Save Settings:
    • After adjusting the throttling settings, click Saveto apply them.

That user took this advice and made these actual changes:

  1. a) Remove markets from grid X minutes after start time if has no bets

Set this to 5-10 minutes after the start time to account for slight market delays or kickoff shifts.

  1. b)  Remove closed markets after X minutes

Set this to 1-5 minutes to quickly free up resources once the market is closed.

  1. c) At in-play, remove markets that do not have any bets

For pre-match football bots, it’s usually best to enable this setting (tick it), as:

  • It prevents unnecessary resource usage on in-play markets without bets.
  • It won’t interfere with bet persistence since markets with bets are never removed.

If you’re concerned about tracking a market post-kickoff for any bets that might be placed in-play, leave this setting disabled

  1.  d) At in-play, remove football markets without historical results if it has no bets

Enable:

  • Even though your bots don’t use historical results, enabling this setting helps filter out low-quality or poorly-documented markets that might otherwise consume resources unnecessarily.
  • It will only remove markets if no bets have been placed, so it won’t impact markets your bots are actively engaged with.

I read his advice and I (Tom) made these changes to my BFBM software.

You don’t have to make these changes, I am just telling you what I have done.

After those change, my VPS is down to 90% memory usage on 8am BST on a Thursday (another off-peak time).

Still not great, but better.

13 What are the profit targets for the bot set? +500%?

With the current set are we still on track to expect 70 units a month and a 500% in about 8-9 months?

With the current set are we still on track to expect 70 units a month and a 500% in about 8-9 months?

I have to admit, I am not entirely sure how much the bots can be expected to make.

But I am hoping to hit 500% at some point this year.

BSG picks

A1.01 Match Odds Draw Opposite Odds made 7% ROI after 4,672 bets in 27 months (av. 173 b/m.)  with no overrounds / 4-tick BLOR (Back/Lay Odds Ratio) so 173 bets per month x 7% ROI suggests +12 points per month.

A1.02 Match Odds Draw Current Odds made 1.8% ROI after 14,215 bets in 27 months (av. 526 b/m.)  with 103% back overround / 4-tick BLOR . It was a 115% overround/15% BLOR for the first 12 months of its life, but I changed it midway. So 526 bets per month x 1.8% ROI suggests +9.5 points per month.

A1.06 Correct Score 0-0 FT Current Odds made 6.7% ROI after 3,736 bets in 12 months (av. 311 b/m.)  with no overrounds / 4-tick BLOR, so 311 bets per month x 6.7% ROI suggests +20 points per month.

Running bots with the exact same settings as the long term test bots has worked for me in the past, but the ROI seems to be getting lower compared to before. This may be negative variance, it may be too many people betting at exactly the same time with exactly the same bot settings. I am not sure, To try and take action to get better prices we are now betting at different times, and our bot set now splits these picks into 2 types of price settings bots.

  1. Bet on current odds with tight market rules 103% overrounds / 1-tick BLOR
  2. Bet on opposite odds with looser market rules 115% overrounds / 4-tick BLOR

From my test bots, only the A1.01 bot mimics the Type 2 Loose Settings. So it is hard to estimate the expected profit. Also, the test bot data is level stakes, not Whitaker NLC staking.

My wild guess is that my price settings will help the bots maintain the historical yields they had before despite more people following.

Whitaker NLC staking will improve on level stakes.

Whitaker LC%  will massively multiply profits x5, x10 when a lucky run of positive variance comes.

The bots are meant to keep the bank alive until we hit such a lucky run, and reach our target.

If the lucky run never comes, then NLC staking should help us beat simple level stakes.

So for the BSG bots I aim for +30 points per month. i.e. a 1k bank, spread across the 4-bots, hopes to increase by 30% on average each month.

03.09 20+9.5 points = 29.5 points

03.10 20+12 points = 32 points

03.11 20+9.5 points = 29.5 points

03.12 20+12 points = 32 points

Total 123 points averaged out over 4 bots = 30.75 points

But +30 points average profit is an insanely high profit target.

+30 points per month would mean +360 points in a year on level stakes. NLC staking should hopefully double or triple that to 700 or 1,000 points.

I would not believe anyone telling me their system can do that.

That 30 points target is based on the test bot results with 1 GBP bets.

A problem in the past was that losing runs on level stakes badly damaged the bank and made people give up. I am hoping the new setup will reduce the chance of that and help the bank get through to positive runs.

If our target is x10 of the original bank, then if the LC% bank helps us reach that faster than the NLC bank in a lucky run of positive variance, then we should stop and profit take then, and reset things from there as goal achieved.

Betaminic back bets

The above image is an aggregation of 23 of the 34 strategies I initially chose. I added a few more based on Betaminic’s article after that, but for simplicity sake I will take this existing screenshot to make an estimate of profit targets.

This set has 436 bets per month with an ROI of 10%.

So we could aim for 43.6 points per month.

But, since we use Betfair and not Pinnacle, there may be some markets unavailable. So we may not get 436 bets per month. But we are following some extra strategies added in later, too.

Let’s say we aim for +40 points average per month with Betaminic back picks.

Again, we have not seen these levels repeated yet in our results. It could be variance, poor prices from bot sets, lack of markets, too many followers, etc. A number of issues could affect it.

So let’s be extra conservative in our target and Betaminic Back bets aim for +20 points per month.

Again, our bots split between 2 price settings types. But the aim of these is to get results close to the long term trend on level stakes.

20 points

+20 points per month would mean +240 points in a year on level stakes. NLC staking should hopefully double or triple that to 500 or 750 points.

Again, I would not believe anyone telling me their system can do that.

That 20 points target is based on a conservative take on the Betaminic aggregator historical results.

A problem in the past was that individual strategies take a long, long time to get bet numbers into the hundreds, and would take a year or more to reach 1000 bets. During that time, the aggregated results of Betaminic strategies make people sometimes give up, but then, after the fact, it seems hanging in there would have been the right choice. The good results come in irregular jumps with a lot of flat or slow decline months in between. This is not conducive to users keeping faith in their system.

Again, If our target is x7-10 of the original bank, then if the LC% bank helps us reach that faster than the NLC bank in a lucky run of positive variance, then we should stop and profit take then, and reset things from there as goal achieved.

Betaminic Lay bets

This is a very new area where I do not know how to calculate the expected profit for this system except by using my actual BFBM bot results.

I cannot calculate ROI without adding up the total amount risked on the bets in liabilities, so I have to calculate by average profit.

01 Lay the Draw current odds has made +57 points profit after 689 bets in 4 months (av. 172  b/m.)  with 85% overrounds / 15% BLOR, so 57 points profit in 4 months suggests Betaminic Lays aim for +14 points per month with Whitaker NLC staking.

+14 points per month would mean +158 points in a year with NLC staking.

That seems possible.

Adding up these different target amounts we get +64 points per month

BSG bots I aim for +30 points per month

Betaminic Back bets aim for +20 points per month.

Betaminic Lays aim for +14 points per month with Whitaker NLC staking.

Again, I would not believe anyone telling me their system can get +64 points per month over a 12-month period. But these are the figures the system suggests.

Our practical experience has not been near that so far. We can either believe the idea behind the system and stay in hoping for the good run that will take our banks to x5 or x10 the original bank. Or we can up on the system doubting that it can get those numbers.

I think we should set a target, either x5 or x10 of the original bank, and then stay in until that is reached or we hit -100% of the original bank.

That is the plan.

How did each system from the old set do from January 19th 2025 to February 12th 2025 on Whitaker NLC Staking?

If anyone was wondering what happened with the old 2024 set, it had a very bad start to 2025.

The above results are from the Whitaker NLC staking set.

User’s Mixed Set Trackers

When possible, I try to track the results of some of my followers in their first weeks to see if we get similar results.

I wanted to share these bot sets to show that you do not have to do exactly the same thing as me. You can just choose the systems that you like the look of and also the staking plans that make sense to you. Each of the users above have made their own decisions on how to use the data available. I helped them set it up on the BFBM and then track it to compare notes if I am following similar strategies. I bought a new simulation desktop PC with 8 GB of RAM instead of 4 GB and also an i5 core instead of an i3 core and I have noticed a big improvement in my BFBM’s ability to handle 200 bots run in simulation mode which has enabled me to track more users’ sets until we are happy they are working fine. If you also want help setting up bots on your BFBM, please let me know at BettingSystemsGuide@gmail.com .
