Bets rejected due to stake size being too small

A user noticed that there were some errors with very low odds bets in the receiving Group 1 bots that bet 0.10 on each bet.

Log error:

With the stakes so low, for bets with odds of 1.10 or lower, it become impossible to bet since 1.05 x 0.10 means 0.005 profit, which Betfair does not allow, so the bet does not get placed.

This issue only affects some low odds bets that cannot be processed since the profits are under 0.01.

Also, for odds that end with profits of 0.015 or 0.025 or 0.035, the bets are also rejected since Betfair does not round up to give free 0.005 profits.

For this reason all the Group 1 bots have to be increased to stakes of 1 GBP instead of 0.10.

This issue will only have affected very, very few selections so far. It is not an emergency fix, but one to be made as part of a next update.

Since the stakes become higher, I have to introduce default market conditions of 115% overrounds and 15% back/lay ratio. This is to prevent absurdly bad prices.

Betaminic tip refresh time

A user said “I asked betaminic they recommended setting the timer to 10minutes:

It used to be 5, I still do get the 522 error but a lot less now…
This okay to do? Hope setting it to 10mins doesn’t affect your strats.”

We could even set the Betaminic one to 1 hour. The tips get sent 6 hours in advance, so we don’t have any problems for timing.

The TippingSports URL refresh rate is the key one since my BSG bots find the picks late on sometimes.

The Betaminic URL refresh rate can be much longer since we have so much time before the event starts.

I think this is an internet connectivity issue, either from our internet connection problem, or Betfair going temporarily offline.

I often see these errors on my home PC, but only on my VPS when Betfair is down.

There is nothing we can really do about this.

I think this is also an internet connectivity issue “An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.” , this one is likely to be Betfair going temporarily offline.

There is nothing we can really do about this.
